The Law of Belief

Over the years, in my spiritual awareness and development, I have come to the conclusion that the Law of Belief is the most powerful of all Spiritual Laws. Without it, we would not be able to experience the conditions in our lives, positive or negative.

You see, we are at cause for everything that happens in our lives. Most people don’t like hearing this or even more so want to acknowledge that this is a Universal Truth. The Great Master himself, during his entire time here on Earth constantly remined us: “It Is done unto you as you believe.”

Think about this for a moment and ask yourself, “what do I believe about myself?” There are so many variables at play here when asking this question. The way you were raised, the conclusions you came up with from the influence of your parents or guardians, your religious indoctrination, your social status and more. All of these things play a very intricate role in what you believe to be true about yourself. Now if you believe (from past influences) that “I am a bad person. I am a loveable person. Wealth, health, creative self expression are all difficult or easy to achieve.” You paint (the belief) on the canvas of (your life) and your result is right there, starring back at you. So you see, without the Law of Belief, nothing could be created. Now of course the question here is: “Is there such a thing as the Law of Belief, and does it really influence how my life plays out?”

Every business, if it wants to be prosperous, has to take an inventory of its products on a regular basis if it wants successful, to see what is selling and what isn’t. This same principle holds true for our personal lives if we really want to experience the “goodies” in life. But the way that most people attempt to look at their inventory (life’s experience), is to only look at the physical stock, without giving any consideration to the mental thought or inner belief behind it.

Take loosing weight as an example. The effect in a person’s life is excess weight. The solution, I’ll go on a diet. The attempt is put into play, but as you know, most diets are unsuccessful as the person attains some success for a period of time, but eventually regains all the weight they lost and sometimes gains even more. This happens because their belief about themselves (mental diet) was not a consideration when they first implemented a change in their eating habits.

Let’s look at some of the causes of weight gain. The 1st thing apparent is excessive eating, but why? Beliefs that I am afraid, emotionally unstable (not loveable, too short, to tall, not attractive enough, stifled creative expression, etc (inventory), are the root behind the cause and are not addressed or included when going on a diet. One of the benefits of excessive eating is that it temporarily comforts unresolved feelings or beliefs in a person, but the thoughts or feelings resurface and a pattern evolves (excessive weight) if the inner belief isn’t exposed and replaced with a change in the person’s perception of themselves (inner beliefs).

Enter The Law of Belief. What becomes obvious is, if you want the outer experience to change, the first thing that needs to happen is to find the inner belief that is creating the condition in your life (the cause). This is where the real diet must begin. Exposing the belief through inner examination (inventory), correcting the belief, either through counseling or some other form of self examination, and changing the belief, then opens the way for a successful weight loss and it’s permanent eradication.

This is just one example of the Law of Belief, but think about the different variables that can come into play in a persons life (money, career, relationships, health, spirituality and more) and the belief systems that are operating in your life and giving you the effects from your beliefs (cause).

It is for these reasons that I see the Law of Belief as the most important of all the spiritual laws, as it is the basis for achieving true success in this game called life. And it goes without saying that this law works in cooperation with all Spiritual Laws (Creation, Love, Cause and Effect, etc) to keep harmony in our lives.

So, if you are experiencing anything other than true happiness and bliss in your life, I urge you to really give the Law of Belief the self examination test in your life and look at what belief systems you are operating from and then find a way (person, place or thing) to change them.

I am always available for counseling as well.

Your’s in Truth,

Rev. John
